Cotoneaster Hedge Removal

This hedge wasn’t a bad specimen by any means but sadly, despite regular trimming it was starting to show its age in places. What used to be uniform density was steadily turning patchy so the decision was made to remove it and replant in the future.

Cutting it down was made challenging by the presence of a small wire fence nestled withing the trunks and running the length of the hedge. One foot at a time though it was sectioned out and chipped up. Once cleared screens were erected to protect windows and passing vehicles from any flying debris and grinding could carefully commence. Extra attention to detail paid alongside the brickwork to remove as much of the roots as possible without damaging the drive or its foundations.

Finally the arisings were scraped back into the holes and the area made safe and tidy ready for replanting in the future.
